Battery Point has changed little in the past 100 years. The 'village' atmosphere, and the dramatic glimpses of the river and mountains are what gives Battery Point its charm.

Arthur's Circus, opposite Coopers Cottage, dates back to 1847 and has small cottage radiating from the circular road.

Salamanca has a unique row of stone warehouses which were built between 1835 and 1860. Only a five minute walk from Coopers Cottage, take the time to browse through the galleries , gift and antique shops or dine at one of the numerous cafes / restaurants.

Salamanca is well renowned for its Saturday morning market, where the street area in front of the warehouses transforms into a hive of activity and atmosphere with around 300 stalls ranging from fresh produce to local crafts. The market operates from 8.30am to 2pm in winter and until 3pm in summer.

Enjoy city life and shopping. Hobart CBD is a pleasant 10 minute walk that incorporates historic St David's Park and some of Hobart's finest buildings.

Cruise the Derwent River, or sit by the waterfront and watch the fishing boats unload their catch. Coopers Cottage offers the opportunity to hire their charter boat for cruises. See Derwent River Classic Cruises Pty Ltd.

A short drive to Wrest Point Casino.
