Research has found that the
building was constructed in the mid 1800’s.
The Cooper family operated a chimney sweep business and Green
Grocer business from the early 1900’s until the mid 1900’s.
Hence the name ‘Coopers Cottage’.
Coopers Cottage was faithfully
restored to reinstate the original character of the times during
1998 and has been fitted out with many antique pieces.
Coopers Cottage began operation as a self contained accommodation
business in early 2000.
Coopers Cottage forms an integral
part of the Hobart Village of Battery Point.
Many of the buildings that line the narrow streets have been
faithfully restored to their original beauty, forming an architectural
streetscape that is truly unique in Australia.
Battery Point has a long association
with boat building and this maritime tradition has continued to
the present day.
We would welcome you to Coopers
Cottage, in the heart of Battery Point Village, to experience this
history, whilst enjoying the conveniences and luxuries of modern
living.
